Fete De La Musique - World Music Day, 2021
Fete de la Musique is internationally celebrated as world music day on 21st June. This year the the "Voyage of the Drum" aims at bringing together the member cities of the UNESCO Creative Cities Network in cooperation to share the ways in which the drum is a cross-cultural form of human expression and cultural heritage. Abhishek Kumar is a young stand up comedian based out of Chennai. He is well known for portraying his alter ego 'Mrs. Janaki' - stereotypical matriculation teacher, through an animoji character. He has also been featured in the Amazon Original - Comicstaan - Semma comedy pa. His content covers a wide range of topics—from online classes and nepotism to Chinese products and the solar eclipse.

This series presents Simran Sivakumar, who is a Bharatanatyam artist from Chennai. Simran is known for her experimental creativity with the form, that has given a different dimension to it. Here, she explains a few steps with a semi classical base that people can follow along with her. The aim is to reduce the stress amongst people through movement.

The artist in this video is a popular folk singer - Chinnaponnu Kumar, who has lent her voice to many hits in film music including the famous "Naaku Mooka". She has also been a recipient of the Kannadasan Award for best folk song in Tamil film. She has incorporated her message into her singing in order to create awareness about the Covid 19 situation and urging people to get vaccinated.
